The Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip would be great under a face mask, and those like me who still wear lipsticks under a face mask might like this.
I only have Slide in my collection, which is one of the OG Ultra Blotted Lip shades. But I checked Colourpop’s website, and I couldn’t find it. Maybe it’s phased out or just out of stock?
Anyway, I haven’t used my tube in so long. I’m glad it’s still okay because I hate throwing makeup, especially when I think I haven’t gotten a lot of use from it. Since I’ve been wearing it lately, it reminded me why I like it as well as dislike it.

It feels powdery on the lips, yet it also feels like those old formula matte liquid lipsticks, like when it sets. Although, it’s not as uncomfortable.
The staying power is amazing, however. Even after several drinks, it won’t come off. It’s also transfer-proof, which is why it would be great under a mask.
One of the things I dislike about it is it doesn’t apply evenly at first. The color doesn’t cling to my lips as well, especially on my upper lip, so I always put on a lot. Once I have it evenly applied, I wait for it to set, which only takes several seconds. Otherwise, it will just not stick. Fortunately, it doesn’t flake and still nicely sets when I put on a lot.
Colourpop claims the Ultra Blotted Lip is comfy on the lips. I did say it’s not as uncomfortable as those old formula matte liquid lipsticks, but it still that bit of discomfort for me. Like a dried-down glue, I suppose. It’s hard to describe. Maybe I’m the only one with this (minor) issue since I’ve read many positive reviews. Also, it accentuates flaking or cracked lips. Hmm, I wonder if Colourpop improved its formula.
Where to Purchase
Personally, I wouldn’t repurchase. The cons are a factor, but I have so many lip products right now and, with the pandemic, I can’t justify buying. I only hope I can keep maintaining my lipstick no-buy.

There are a couple of Sailor Moon Ultra Blotted Lips still available too. My younger self would be all over it, for sure.
