I was wrong to think I could skip the Dior Addict Stellar Gloss. Other than my small Dior Addict Ultra Gloss collection is still okay (thankfully), the available shades of the Stellar Gloss were too sheer for my liking. I already have a decent amount of sheer lip glosses, with some having a shimmery finish.
But I found these swatches, so the ones I saw initially were probably just a part of the range. 😅
I thought my wallet was going to be safe, haha! I got 754 Magnify. Dior describes it as plum, but it looks like muted berry red, at least on my lips.
Dior Addict Stellar Glos 754 Magnify Review
The sleek packaging design of the Dior Addict Stellar Gloss is still the same as the previous Ultra Gloss range, made of clear acrylic, and still feels hefty. It’s easy to see the shade with the clear packaging. The only difference is the Dior name embossing that’s now colored pink.
The consistency of Stellar Gloss could look thick and goopy, but it doesn’t feel like so. It’s actually comfortable on the lips, like a lightweight lip balm, and moisturizing. There’s no stickiness either.
It makes my lips look plump, but maybe it’s the shine that gives that effect. 😊
It has a vanilla scent, which I don’t remember from the previous formula. But it reminds me a lot of my most favorite lip gloss, the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé. Every time I apply this, it reminds me of my younger self and my first job because the Lip Glacé was my daily lip product back then. I think Magnify is similar to my first Lip Glacé. I hope I still have that lip gloss so I can check.
Compared with Ultra Gloss, I prefer this formula more. I didn’t think Dior could make their lip gloss better, and the applicator is starting to grow on me. I mean, the applicator is the same as the lip oils, and I liked that. 😊 Thinking back on the Ultra Gloss applicator, this chubby and curvier applicator is better, making applying lip gloss without a mirror easy. It also packs (more than) enough product that there’s no need to double-dip.
Availability
Dior is available in SM Makati and Podium (my go-to branches), SM Aura, SM Mall of Asia, and Rustan’s Shangri-La. For online shopping options, I only know of the international/US website and Selfridges.
