A year ago, around this time, I was in Virginia. Almost daily, I would visit the Shirlington Dog Park, the nearest park to our home. I often miss our dogs at home whenever I travel. Luckily, that dog park is near. Well, it’s not too near, but it’s almost walkable. I walk it to get some walking exercise.

I used my Fujifilm X-T2, which isn’t ideal for quick moving subjects imo, but I still enjoyed taking photos of the dogs playing around. Here are some my favorites, including those doggos that ran up to me. One of them even sat beside me on one of the park benches. 🙂

As much as I wanted to use various film simulations, I couldn’t. I didn’t want to miss capturing the dogs catching ball or running around sniffing each other’s butts. 😂
I wanted to post all the photos I took, but I had to narrow them down; otherwise, this post would turn into one endless scroll of dog pics. 🤭🐶
If you’re wondering about the dog park and where it’s at, I dropped a short review at the end of this post.

The Shirlington Dog Park is a long-fenced (and I mean long), spacious park where dogs can freely run around. It’s a public park, open from sunrise to sunset, and has no entrance fee. If I remember right, there’s a small section for those who’d rather not chase after their dog from one end of the park to the other. 🙂 The park has faucets and trash bins, plus creek access, which is great for dogs to play in, especially during the warm weather. A car park is nearby, which I’ve seen full, particularly after work hours.
