Review: Clinique iD for Pores & Uneven Texture

Description

The Clinique iD is a custom-blend hydration system, combining a moisturizer and active concentrate of choice. Out of the several moisturizer options from Clinique, I went for the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly (mainly because I haven’t tried it yet). For the Active Cartridge Concentrate, I chose that for pores and uneven texture.

Revolutionary custom-blend hydrator gives you the power to hydrate and treat your main skin concern, your way. The Active Cartridge Concentrate™ for Pores & Uneven Texture delivers concentrated actives, including AHAs, to reduce the look of pores and retexturize skin. With continued use, see visible improvement in skin texture.

Clinique iD Review

I’ve been using this Clinique iD combination for nearly three months now and as part of my evening skincare routine. I sometimes use it before I put on make-up when my face feels more dehydrated than usual (when it’s that time of the month). I only use a single pump for my face, enough to seal in all the skincare I put on first. Then, I use another pump for my neck.

My skin really has improved since using this. I had an uneven texture on my forehead and just below my eyes. The pores on my nose and cheeks can be noticeable, especially when my skin is getting oily. But I hardly notice both issues anymore. I can’t say my skin is perfect, yet my make-up looks better now. I also don’t have to worry about foundation or powder build-up on the supposedly textured areas.

The moisturizer with the concentrate feels a little sticky initially, but it goes away after applying it. Also, I thought the concentrate was blue. Maybe it’s just not apparent.

The Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly doesn’t seem to be moisturizing enough, however. Before including Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil in my routine, I always felt the need to use more than a pump of the Clinique iD. However, it might be because it’s gel type and absorbs faster, unlike some cream or lotion type moisturizers that would stay longer on the skin. I might only be used to having layers of products in my evening skincare routine. But with the faster absorption of the gel-type moisturizer, it’s good to use before make-up.

Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly description

Anyway, I’m glad to experience positive results from this Clinique iD combination. 🙂 Next time, I’ll try the Clinique iD Dramatically Different Hydrating Clearing Jelly that contains salicylic acid (one of my favorite ingredients).
