When the Dior Capture Youth skincare range released, I had my eyes set on the Glow Booster. My skin loves vitamin C, and it has AHA. It sold out fast when it became available in my usual Dior store, so as soon as I heard the following delivery included stocks of it, I quickly had a bottle reserved for me. 🙂
Description
From Dior’s website:
This illuminating serum is a glow booster to help restore radiance. Murunga Plum, known to be 100 times more concentrated in Vitamin C than oranges, combined with alpha hydroxy acid helps to brighten the complexion and smooth skin texture.
Enriched with antioxidant-boosting iris extract and composed of 80%* naturally-derived ingredients, this serum has a lightweight texture that offers a natural glow and energizes skin, helping it resist aggressions (stress, fatigue, and jet lag,…).
Dior
1. Active Ingredient: Vitamin C from Murunga Plum helps to brighten skin
2. Alpha hydroxy acid helps to even skin tone
3. Iris extract boosts skin’s natural antioxidant power
It comes in a glass bottle with dropper, containing 30ml. By the way, I dropped this bottle once, haha.
Usage
There are three suggested usage of the Glow Booster:
- Daily application before Capture Youth Crème (or a moisturizer of choice).
- Two to three drops added directly to a spatula of Capture Youth Crème.
- Daily or as a 1-month intense treatment when skin is particularly dull.
Review
In my first time using the Glow Booster, I just applied all over without testing except around the eye area, of course. I made sure to put on sunscreen afterward (as if that would help if anything shitty happened). Thankfully, there was no sensitivity. 😛
Anyway, it has a watery consistency and doesn’t feel sticky. After a week’s use, I don’t remember noticing a considerable change on my skin, particularly on skin texture. But that could be my fault since I didn’t use it twice a day. However, my sunspots became less visible. My face wasn’t as dull-looking anymore as well.
When I incorporated the Capture Youth Crème, that’s when I saw a noticeable improvement, especially when I began to mix the serum with it before applying. My skin became plump, giving me a more youthful appearance. I currently use a different moisturizer, but not mixing with the serum anymore. So far, my skin is still okay, although I still prefer it with the Capture Youth Crème.
Availability and Recommendation
There are many and cheaper AHA and Vitamin C skincare in the market. If you already have an HG AHA or Vitamin C skincare, you can skip this unless you really like testing out skincare. I already have a favorite Vitamin C skincare, which is making me have second thoughts in repurchasing this serum. This, however, is effectively brightening. I actually forgot when I last worried about looking tired and stressed all the time. It is likely I will repurchase, but after I try the other serums/boosters.
Those who have similar skin concerns–uneven and dull skin–should give the Glow Booster a test first at Dior stores/counters. If you use either the serum or Capture Youth Crème, try to use both at the same time. 🙂
Glow Booster is available in all local Dior stores at Php 5,500.
